Got a project that could shape your community?

Let’s build it—together.

Kinstruct is scaffolding for co-designing shared futures. We’re inviting a small group of organizers to join our pilot program and be among the first to launch community-powered projects.

This is not just a tech trial—it’s a relationship-building experiment.

Kinstruct helps you launch and grow community-led projects.

Whether you’re organizing a community garden, hosting a public art event, or reimagining how your neighborhood gathers—Kinstruct gives you the tools to bring your project to life.

Think of it as a Kickstarter for collective action. With Kinstruct, you can:

  • Share your idea with your community

  • Gather feedback and suggestions

  • Recruit volunteers and supporters

  • Accept donations

  • Track progress in one simple dashboard

Be one of the first organizers to use and test kinstruct

This fall, we’re piloting kinstruct with a small group of community organizers, creatives, and changemakers. You’ll get early access to the platform, dedicated support, and the chance to shape how Kinstruct grows.

We’re looking for:

  • Local leaders or groups with a project in motion

  • People excited to engage their community in new ways

  • Organizers open to giving feedback and co-designing with us

We’re offering two pilot cohorts based on when you plan to launch your kinstruct project.

Launch Week Cohort

This is the best fit if you want to co-create with others in real time and help set the tone for Kinstruct’s first wave.

For those who want to kick off their Kinstruct project during our official Launch Week (around the autumnal equinoxweek of Sept 22).

You'll receive more hands-on support, including:

  • A guided onboarding session

  • Peer learning calls during launch week

  • Early prompts to help you imagine and set up your exchange

Rolling Cohort

This cohort is perfect if your community rhythms need flexibility or if you want to observe before diving in.

For those who need a bit more time. You’ll still get access to everything you need to launch your own Kinstruct project—just at your own pace.

You’ll be asked to launch by December 22 (the winter solstice), and will receive:

  • Platform access

  • Starter prompts and templates

  • Invitations to virtual community check-ins

Is kinstruct a good fit for your project?

✅ You’re planning a project that serves your community
✅ You want feedback, volunteers, or local donations
✅ You value collaboration and transparency
✅ You’re curious about new ways to organize

We’re looking for people who are curious, generous, and willing to experiment. You don’t need tech skills or community organizing experience—just a desire to explore new ways of being in relationship with others.

If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear more.

 FAQs

  • Anyone organizing a local community project—whether you’re a nonprofit, mutual aid group, neighborhood association, or just an individual with a vision to share resources and support others.

  • Not at all. Kinstruct is designed to be easy to use, even if you’re not familiar with tech platforms. We’ll provide onboarding materials, prompts, and check-ins to support you along the way.

  • Participation in the pilot is free for Launch Week cohort members, including full support and no platform fees. We deeply appreciate the time and effort everyone puts in to build community through Kinstruct.

For Rolling Cohort participants, there may be a small platform fee (no more than 2% of any fundraised amount, or we may ask for a tip from your donors) to help us sustain and improve the platform, or a voluntary tipping option? We don’t quite know yet but we plan on making this one of our top priorities to get insights about during the pilot.

Additionally, credit card companies charge processing fees, and we’ll provide an option for donors to cover those fees to minimize costs for you.

  • The simple answer is we’re not. We have in-kind donations as a project of a nonprofit and rely a lot on the blood, sweat and tears of our team. After the pilot program, we plan on rolling out add-ons to generate revenue, a more robust platform fee plan, but still aiming for this to be less than what credit card companies charge, or even a tipping option instead of charging a percentage.

  • It’s flexible. Most projects will run for a few weeks to a few months. As part of the pilot, we ask that your project is active for at least 2–4 weeks, and that you launch it by December 22 (if you’re in the rolling cohort).

    • Launch a project or exchange during the pilot window (Sept–Dec)

    • Use Kinstruct in a way that fits your community

    • Share honest feedback—what works, what’s confusing, what could be better

    • Optional: Join a few community calls, share reflections, and stay connected!

  • Yes, absolutely. Whether you’re hosting a community fridge, sharing caregiving, or just testing a small idea with neighbors, we welcome first-timers. We believe everyone has something to offer.

  • Projects that rely on trust, generosity, and peer exchange—not payment. Think:

    • Skill-sharing groups

    • Local repair networks

    • Childcare swaps

    • Garden harvest collectives

    • Community tool libraries

    Artist and maker mutual aid
If your idea brings people together and redistributes care or resources, it probably fits.

  • For this pilot phase, we’re focusing primarily on U.S.-based projects so we can provide more hands-on support. That said, if you're elsewhere and feel strongly about participating, feel free to apply—we’d love to hear from you, and we’ll let you know when we start accepting projects in your location.

  • Your privacy matters to us. We will never sell your data or use it for advertising. Any feedback or usage data you share during the pilot will only be used to improve Kinstruct. You’ll have the option to anonymize any quotes or insights if shared in future reports.
